The determination of urinary phenolic compounds is a useful diagnostic assay for patients with suspected hyperthyroidism, mellitus diabetes caused by hyperthyroidism, tumors producing catecholamines and its metabolites. This method can also be used as a screening test in suspected benzene intoxication.
