Hydroxyproline New

Colorimetric Method

Colorimetric quantitative determination of urinary hydroxyproline.

Urinary hydroxyproline excretion is a parameter helping to evaluate catabolic conditions of bone and connective tissues (bone metastasis, Paget disease, osteolytic process, etc.)is present in urine for 3% in a free state and for 97% bound to peptides. It is liberated by hydrolysis. Oxidized to pyrrole, with Ehrlich reagent it forms a red compound photometric definable.
