CPT

CPT is a complex with anti-coagulative and anti-aggregant properties to be used in case of suspected platelet aggregation.

Piridoxalphosphate prevents platelet aggregation caused by EDTA or by other anti-coagulative, citrate included. It helps to prevent a frequent laboratory adulteration: pseudotrombocytopenia seldom followed by pseudoleukocytosis. If not detected, pseudptrombocytopenia may cause wrong diagnostic results and useless or unsuitable therapeutic treatments. Moreover, unlike what happens with other anti-coagulative, CPT maintains stable the average platelet volume (MPV), the platelet volume distribution range (PDW) and piastrinocrite (PCT), allowing the correct determination with “Coulter” systems.

CPT helps platelet to maintain the same properties they have in whole blood, without anticoagulative after 24 hours. Also all other hematological parameters remain the same
